Hello!
I'm Abdirashid Omar, a computer vision, Earth observation, and GeoAI researcher based in Somalia. I completed an M.S. in Data Science / Big Data at Kookmin University in 2026 through the Global Korea Scholarship. My work sits at the intersection of computer vision, remote sensing, geospatial analytics, and data-driven public impact.
I build reproducible AI and data systems that turn satellite imagery, public datasets, text data, and urban signals into models, maps, dashboards, and decision-support insights. My projects include bi-temporal change detection, flood impact mapping, public urban data dashboards, text analytics, and low-resource NLP dataset preparation.
My research focuses on deep learning for remote sensing and computer vision, including bi-temporal change detection, semantic segmentation, domain adaptation, and reproducible evaluation. My applied work includes geospatial analysis, data pipelines, interactive dashboards, and visual storytelling.
